Sydney Trains will shut down

  • Sydney Trains will shut down this weekend.

  • Trains will not run from Friday 22 November to Sunday 24 November.

  • Trains will start again in the morning on Sunday 24 November.

  • We do not know the time when trains will start again yet.

  • We will change this page when we know more.

  • Trains will not run in the Sydney area.

  • Trains in these areas may be slow or not run

    • Newcastle and Central Coast
    • Blue Mountains
    • Wollongong.
  • Other public transport will still run.

  • This includes

    • Buses
    • Ferries
    • Light rail
    • Metro.
  • Some Metro lines will not run because workers will fix the tracks.

What this means for you

  • Sydney Trains plans to have replacement buses for trains.

  • Replacement buses are buses that travel to the same places the train does.

  • We do not know when and where replacement buses will run.

  • We will change this page when we have more information.

  • Other types of public transport will be very busy.

  • The roads will also be very busy.

  • This might make travel go slower.

  • It might be better not to travel if you do not have to.
