How to register a positive COVID rapid antigen test

  • The NSW Government is making changes to COVID testing rules.

  • When you get a positive result with a rapid antigen test (RAT) you do not have to do a test at a testing clinic .

    A RAT is a test you can do yourself at home.

    You must  register the positive RAT with Service NSW

  • Who can get a test at a clinic

    Some people can still get a test at a clinic.

    This is called a PCR test.

  • You can have a PCR test if you are:

    • Less than 20 weeks pregnant
    • An Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person
    • An unvaccinated person 16 years and over
    • Immunosuppressed. This means having a weak immune system

    Your doctor can also ask for you to have a PCR test.

  • How to register a positive RAT

    To register a positive rapid antigen test result you must be:

    • aged 16 or over
    • living or staying in NSW.
  • You can register with

    You cannot register your positive result at a Service NSW Centre.

    You do not need to register a PCR test result.

  • Registering your result will help you get support from NSW Health.

  • What you need

    • Your MyServiceNSW Account details (if you have one)
    • the date of the positive rapid antigen test result
    • your name, date of birth and postcode
    • your contact details like email and telephone number
  • Log in to your MyServiceNSW Account.

    Make sure your personal and contact details are correct in your MyServiceNSW Account before you register.

    If you do not have a MyServiceNSW Account select ‘Continue as Guest’.

  • If you are registering your positive result choose the option ‘For myself”

    Enter the positive test result date.

  • Enter your personal details like

    • name
    • date of birht
    • postcode

    Enter your phone number or email.

  • Answer ‘yes’ or ‘no’ to the health questions.

  • Complete the declaration.

    Submit your details.

  • If you need help to fill out the form call Service NSW on 13 77 88.

     

  • From 19 January the Government has said there will be a $1000 fine if people do not register their positive result.

  • You must self-isolate for 7 days from the day you received your positive result.

    You should get medical help if you feel breathless or dizzy or get very sick.

    If you are not sure about the COVID symptoms you can go to the NSW health website and do a Symptoms check.

  • If you feel sick

    • Stay home
    • Call your GP, the National Coronavirus Helpline on 1800 020 080 or the NSW Health COVID-19 Care at Home Support Line on 1800 960 933.

    If it is an emergency call 000.
