COVID-19 rules for people in Western and South Western Sydney

The NSW Government has rules you must follow during COVID-19.
There are some Local Government Areas that have special rules at the moment.
These are called LGA’s of concern.
- Fairfield
- Liverpool
- Canterbury-Bankstown
-
Cumberland
-
Blacktown
- Georges River
- Parramatta
- Campbelltown
- Bayside
- Strathfield
- Burwood
- 12 suburbs in the City of Penrith. They are Caddens, Claremont Meadows, Colyton, Erskine Park, Kemps Creek, Kingswood, Mount Vernon, North St Marys, Orchard Hills, Oxley Park, St Clair and St Mary’s.
These rules are about work and leaving your home.

Shopping
You must use click and collect if you need things from hardware, plant and pet shops.
Click and collect means you can order online and pick up at the store.

Work
If you live in one of these areas but work somewhere else you can only leave your area to go to work if
- you are an authorised worker.See the list of authorised workers
- you can get tested at work or had your first vaccination by 30 August.

If you live and work in the same area, you can go to work if
- the business is allowed to be open
- you are an authorised worker.

Some people need a permit to travel to their job.
You can get a permit from Service NSW.
You need one if
- you live in one of the LGAs of concern and need to leave your LGA for work.
- you need to travel into an LGA of concern for your work.
The permits only last for 14 days.

Face mask
You must wear a mask any time you leave your house.

Exercise
You can exercise outside.
This must be within 5kms of your home.

Single’s bubble
If you live alone you can choose one person to visit you in your home.
It must be the same person every time.

From Monday 13 September people who are vaccinated can do more things.

You can meet in groups of up to five people.
The five person limit includes adults and children over 16.
Children under 16 are not included in the 5 person limit.
All adults must be vaccinated
You must meet inside your LGA or within 5 kilometres from home.
