How to choose my contraception

Health conference in Dubbo

  • Western NSW Local Health District is hosting a community conference about intellectual disability health.

Making organisations more inclusive

  • CID has services to help organisations be more inclusive.

    Inclusive means we can all be part of things.

  • We can do focus groups with people with intellectual disability.

    A focus group is a group of people who talk about

Anti-Discrimination Act Review

  • CID worked with the NSW Law Reform Commission.

  • Together we made some information about the Anti-Discrimination Act.

  • The Law Reform Commission wants to know what you think about discrimination.

ACI Consumers Advisory Group

  • The NSW Agency for Clinical Innovation Intellectual Disability Network wants to make health services better for people with intellectual disability.

    We say ACI Intellectual Disability Network for short.

  • They need people with intellectual disability to join the Consumers Advisory Group (intellectual disability).

  • This group will share ideas to make health services better.

  • The group will learn about things like

    • Speaking up in meetings
    • Making decisions.
  • Group members and their support people will be paid.

  • The group will meet 6 times a year for an hour.

  • You can meet online or in person in St Leonards.

  • They want to have a variety of people who

    • Have intellectual disability
    • Are over 18 years old
    • Have been to a hospital or community health services in the last 2 years
    • Want to make health services better.
  • They hope to have some people from country areas.

Change and hope art competition

  • There is an art competition from 2 groups at the University of Sydney

    • Centre for Disability Research and Policy
    • Disability at Work Network.
  • The art competition is for people with disability.

Having a Say art competition

  • The Having a Say conference has an art competition for people with intellectual disability.

Research about MyMedicare

  • Researchers at Macquarie University want to know what you think about MyMedicare.

  • MyMedicare lets you register your GP with Medicare.

  • The researchers want to interview people with intellectual disability.

  • If you do the interview you will get a gift voucher for your time.

Supported Independent Living survey

  • Supported Independent Living is support you get through the NDIS to help you do tasks around the house.

    We say SIL for short.

  • Inclusion Australia has made an Easy Read survey about SIL.

  • They want to hear what people with disability think about changes to SIL.

Me and My Medicines survey

  • Researchers at the University of Newcastle want to hear from people with intellectual disability.

  • They are making resources for people with intellectual disability about using medicines safely.
