Making organisations more inclusive

  • CID has services to help organisations be more inclusive.

    Inclusive means we can all be part of things.

  • We have workshops to teach people to write in Easy Read.

  • We can make information into Easy Read for organisations.

  • We can help organisations make plans to be inclusive.

  • We can do focus groups with people with intellectual disability.

    A focus group is a group of people who talk about their ideas and issues.

  • You can tell organisations you know about these services.

  • You can show them this website.

Events

  • These events are coming up in June.

  • The Advocacy Group will meet on Thursday 12 June.

  • It is for CID members.

  • You can come to the meeting online or in person.

  • If you want to join the Advocacy Group

  • The South West Sydney Disability and Lifestyle Expo is on Saturday 21 June from 10am to 3pm.

  • It is for

    • People with disability
    • Their supporters.
  • It is at the Whitlam Leisure Centre in Liverpool.

  • It is free.

  • CID will be handing out resources.

  • Learn 2 Lead will meet on Thursday 26 June.

  • It is for CID members.

Focus group about cervical screening

  • Researchers want to know what people with disability think about cervical screening.

  • They are having focus groups until 9 June.

  • The focus groups will be online or in person.

  • If you do a focus group you will get a $60 voucher.

  • GeneEqual is a project at UNSW about genetic health care for people with intellectual disability.

  • Genetic health care is about some health conditions that run in families.

  • GeneEqual made a toolkit about genetic health care.

  • Researchers studied the toolkit.

  • They found it helped people with intellectual disability get better health care.
