-
The My Rights Matter team talked about their work on supported decision making.

-
Supported decision making is when someone helps you make more of your own decisions.
-
People with intellectual disability can make decisions with the right supports.
-
We talked about decision making rights.
-
Ricky and Alexander hosted a workshop called Decision Making Conversations.
-
We asked people to think about decisions using a decision card.
You can find our Supported Decision Making Conversation Cards at the link below.
-
The story on the decision card was about choosing a new job.
-
There was a lot of discussion about what to do.
-
Some people said the person in the story could talk to a disability employment agency.
-
Others said he could talk to his parents for advice.
-
Making new decisions can be hard.
-
We wanted everyone to know that
- Everyone has the right to make decisions
-
- Everyone has the right to take risks
-
- Everyone has the right to support
-
- Everyone should respect what a person decides
