  • Ariella Meltzer is the Secretary.

    The Secretary plans and takes notes at meetings.

  • Alex Hitchcock is the Treasurer.

    The Treasurer looks after CIDs money.

  • We all look forward to working together.

  • Sexuality is about the kind of people you would like to have romantic relationships with.

  • Gender identity is the way you feel about your gender.

  • Side by Side Advocacy will make resources to give people with intellectual disability skills in making decisions about home.

  • Printable will make a video about workers with intellectual disability.

  • Dundaloo will make videos about people in Taree making their own decisions.

My Health Matters folder

  • The My Health Matters folder is a folder where you can keep all your health information.

My Rights Matter in 2024

  • My Rights Matter will do more workshops about supported decision making in 2024.

  • You can sign up for updates about the workshops.

  • There is also a new free workshop with support systems.

  • You can work together in the workshop with

    • Your family member
    • Your friend
    • Your support worker
  • We will meet with you and your support people.

  • We will work through making a real life decision together.

  • At the end of the workshop everyone will know how to better support you with your own decisions.

  • If you and your support people want to do this workshop

  • There will also be online supported decision making peer mentor groups.

  • The peer mentor groups begin on 7 February 2024.

More than Just a Job in 2024

  • More than Just a Job for Me is a workshop about getting a job that you love.

National Centre of Excellence in Intellectual Disability Health Council

  • The National Centre of Excellence in Intellectual Disability Health has opened.

    We will call it the Centre.

  • The Centre is now looking for people to be on their Council.

    The Council is a group of people who make sure the Centre is doing a good job.

Specialist Disability Accommodation in NSW

  • The Achieve Foundation worked with University of Technology Sydney to write a report about Specialist Disability Accommodation.

  • Specialist Disability Accommodation is housing for people with NDIS plans.

  • CID wrote the Easy Read summary of the report.

  • There are some events coming up in December that you can get tickets for.

Accessible Viewing Area at Barangaroo for New Year's Eve

  • There will be an accessible viewing area for the New Year’s Eve fireworks display at Barangaroo.

  • Barangaroo is a place near Sydney Harbour.

  • Space is limited so you need to reserve tickets ahead of time.

    Reserve means to book your space before other people.

Having a Say Conference

  • The Having a Say Conference from VALID will be on 5 and 6 February 2024.
