The cards can help health professionals talk to women with intellectual disability about their health.

They can help family members and support workers talk about

• Sexual and reproductive health

• Safe relationships.

AGM

We had our annual general meeting.

We say AGM for short.

At the AGM CID staff and members talk about what CID has done in the last year.

CID members elected a new board member named Nina Magrath.

Conferences and presentations

CID went to many conferences in November.

We talked about things that are important for people with intellectual disability.

We talked about making health care better for people with intellectual disability.

We talked about why it is important for people with intellectual disability to have a good job.

We talked about how people with intellectual disability can make more of their own decisions.

People were excited to hear about what we had to say.

We have workshops to teach people to write in Easy Read.

We can make information into Easy Read for organisations.

We can help organisations make plans to be inclusive.

We can do focus groups with people with intellectual disability.

A focus group is a group of people who talk about

• their ideas
• their issues.

NSW Health wants to hear from people with intellectual disability who have a hard time with mental health.

They want to know what you think about the Mental Health Strategy.

The Mental Health Strategy is a plan to make mental health services better for people with intellectual disability.

They want to speak to people who

• Are 18 years and older

• Have mental health concerns

• Can come to a 1 hour online meeting.

You will get a $50 gift card if you take part.

BreastScreen NSW is working with University of Sydney.

They are doing a study about breast density.

They want to talk to women who

• Speak Mandarin, Arabic or Vietnamese

• Are aged 40 to 74

• Live in NSW

• Have not had breast cancer.

They want to

• Talk to you for 1 hour online

• Have you fill out a survey.

NSW Health and Project Air Strategy for Personality Disorders are working together.

They want to try out Gold Card Clinics for people with intellectual disability.

Gold Card Clinics are mental health clinics that give special help to people who are at risk.

They want people with intellectual disability to be on their expert advisory panel.

Meetings will be on Microsoft Teams in early December 2025 and February 2026.

Researchers from Flinders University and Cancer Council SA are doing a study.

The study is about making things better for people with intellectual disability who have had cancer.

They want to talk to all adults with intellectual disability.

They are looking for people to do one of these

• A 60 minute talk with someone

• A 90 minute focus group.

If you do a talk or focus group you will get a $50 gift card.
