Inclusion

People with intellectual disability often feel excluded from the community.

We want a community where all people with intellectual disability are valued and included.

We wanted to teach the juvenile justice staff about cognitive disability and what issues young people with disability face.

What does CID think about inclusion

All of our work at CID is about creating an inclusive society where everyone is valued.

What we are doing

Some of our staff and board members have gone to the United Nations in New York to talk about inclusion on a global stage.

Our projects work in different areas to make sure people with intellectual disability are included in more places.

We work with organisations to help them include people with intellectual disability in their  practices, products and information.

We can work with your organisation to

  • Provide expert advice, inclusion audits and inclusive governance training
  • Translate your Disability Inclusion Action Plans, like the ones we have done for Councils and the NSW State Government
  • Conduct focus groups with people with intellectual disability to gain valuable insights to make your organisation more inclusive
