Easy Read Constitution

The CID constitution is now in Easy Read.

We think we have the only Easy Read constitution in Australia.
We hope other organisations will make Easy Read constitutions too.

Guardianship law reform

The My Rights Matter project thinks we need a new law so people with disability can get support to make their own decisions.

People with disability have the same rights as everyone else.
They should get support to make their own decisions.

CID at the Disability Royal Commission

Our CEO Justine and Project Workers Ricky and Alex spoke to the Disability Royal Commission (DRC).
They talked about supported decision making.

They told the DRC that all people have the right to decide and the right to support.

People with lived experience need to be leaders in supported decision making.
That means being a leader in

- deciding what good support is
- training

Learn 2 Lead is looking for new members.

Learn 2 Lead is a group of CID members with intellectual disability.

They get together to:
- share ideas
- learn about leadership
- learn about working together

One member says
“It is about being a leader, learning from each other and sharing skills, knowledge and experience”.

They meet from 2pm – 4pm on the third Thursday of every month.
