Good news about health

  • There have been some good things for the health of people with intellectual disability.

  • End deadly disability discrimination advocacy campaign logo

    We ran campaigns to get governments to make big changes.

    The governments agreed to make changes.

  • The NSW Government has funded intellectual disability health services.

  • The Australian Government has made a ten year plan to improve the health of people with intellectual disability.

  • We have updated our Health Position Statement.

    The plan explains the changes CID thinks government needs to make for people with intellectual disability around their health.

  • Sign up for our My Life My Choices Conference

    It is a free conference for people with intellectual disability.

    The conference is about supported decision making.

    The day will be full of

    • great information
    • fun activities

    These will help you think about decisions and choices in your life.

    • Hear stories from people who make decisions with support they choose
    • Talk about your decision making powers
    • Think about what is important to you
    • Think about your skills and strengths

    You will also meet lots of new people.

Learn 2 Lead

  • Learn 2 Lead is a sub-committee of the CID Board.

    They are a group of CID members who get together to

    • share ideas
    • learn about leadership
    • learn about working together
  • One member says

    “It is about being a leader, learning from each other and sharing skills, knowledge and experience”.

  • Learn 2 Lead is looking for new members.

    We meet from 2pm – 4pm on the third Thursday of every month.

    You need to be a CID member with an intellectual disability.
