Keeping track of the Disability Royal Commission recommendations
Each year the Australian Federal and State governments release a progress report showing how they have responded to the recommendations of the Disability Royal Commission (DRC).
CID is reviewing the 2025 reports to see what the NSW Government is doing to help people with intellectual disability. It’s important that we keep the government accountable.
We know there is a lot more to do to improve the lives of people with intellectual disability including making:
- Health services skilled in working with people with intellectual disability
- Government information easy to read, find and use
- Supported decision making a real alternative to guardianship
- Courts safer with good supports and diversion pathways for our community
Each month, we will share details about the Governments progress in the areas that matter most to our community. This includes health, justice, supported decision making, employment, easy access to information, and more.
We will be going in depth on these topics in later blog posts.
